The Best short book on Polish cultureJuly 14, 2005 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Culture Smart seems to have turned up a minor classic with this fascinating and informative treatise on Polish culture. Greg Allen provides us with all the information we need for a really successful sojourn to the country of Walesa, Zubrowka, Bigos, Kwasniewski, Chopin and Boniek. The real delight in this book, however, is the author's subtle wit and crystelline writing style - it is a joy! I wish all books on intercultural communication could incorporate the verve, the enthusiasm, the obvious love of the subject that Allen clearly has for his beloved Poland. Buy this book if you have any possibility of contact with Poles in your daily life (highly likely in contemporary Britain).
