A very easy to read style that made me interested to read more. Not too heavy but very informative! The exercises to practice with I found particularly useful before my radio audition and the hints and tips are obviously from someone in the know. A real non-stars in your eyes view on presenting as a real job with lots of personal stories by names you will recognise.Presenting on TV and Radio: An insider's guide: An Insider's Guide

I love the writing! It's witty with a delightful and zippy prose style. I also really like the anti-pontification tone and the practical advice (loved for example the pig farm in a print dress story). I enjoyed the action pictures (just exactly WHAT is being held onto for balance in Fig. 7.9 ??). The tips after each chapter - "go to the toilet before going into the studio" - this is the voice of experience speaking!
For a big part of the readership (students and the aspiring) I thought the “How to Get in and Get On” chapter was excellent. I particularly liked the ageism/sexism chapter- excellent idea and examples! This has a proud place on my groaning shelf of work related books.
