Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars The quickest way to get into television program making, but   May 20, 2001

For people, who are new in the television production business, this book is a treasure chest which helps them a lot. At the beginning. But soon one wants to learn more or have something explained more into detail than Colin Hart does in Television program making. The book itself is a great summary of almost all fields of production - treatment, budget, script, production, filming, editing, sound, going freelance and much more, but if one is really interested in television, this book should serve as a starting point for further research and studying. Concise writing gives the reader all the important information right away, and this is one of the best things about it. Even if you are already filming the project and just need to look up something you did not memorize, the book will quickly give the answer, without the thorough browsing of the index. If you are new, get it, it will be one of the most valuable books in the beginning, but if you have experience in production and want to update or upgrade it, go for something more detailed.
