This book is suitable for candidates taking the Sports Massage option as part of the BTEC National Sports Studies qualification as well as for VTCT candidates. This highly illustrated book covers all the knowledge and skills you will need to qualify as a sports massage practitioner. There is so much more to say, a great book from a great author.

4 out of 5 stars sports massage   April 4, 2004

As a lecturer teaching the new VTCT courses in sports massage therapy and sports and fitness therapy techniques. I know this will be a valuable resource. The anatomy and physiology section contains all of the relevant information that the students need to learn for their external assessments,i liked the fact that at the end of each system there is a relationship between contrainications and massage, which is very useful. The sports massage section explains about the different techniques, what they do and what they are used for. The book contains real, hands on colouful photographs, some in changing facilities, some in a clinical setting and other on a pitch, which epitomises sports massage.
Fantastic table of hand techniques, step by step instructions of how to perform each technique. The only thing that i would have likeed to have seen is colouful photographs or pictures of the sports injuries in the back section A-Z of sports injuries.
Nevertheless, an excellent, informative, well written student book. I shall be placing an order for the new students starting at the end of August. Thank you
