This book covers in detail the captive breeding of a large number of the British and Northern European speies of butterfly, as well as having fairly detailed background notes on these species. What would be nice however is a greater emphasis on the keeping of the more exotic species - which at present only covers papilionidae and heliconid butterflies, although the methods used for the later are definetely worthy of note as the author (alongside his close friends) have a deep fascination with these species. The book also contains great information on other invertebrates commonly kept as pets - worthy of most note is the details on individual species of stick insects and the description of rearing methods for leaf-cutter ants.
