4 out of 5 stars Helpful, informative, essential!   October 28, 2005

We bought this book to read up about houserabbits before we took on two rabbits from a rabbit rescue. We still refer to it a lot when we have a query, and it very often helps.
It has lots of tips on the whole process, from thinking about getting a rabbit, to how to prepare your home if you would like your rabbit to live inside, to what rabbits eat, how they behave, and what you need to do to look after them properly. It has lots of great pictures too. It is well organised into logical chapters, and is full of practical tips.

4 out of 5 stars Very good for reference   April 14, 2005

I found this to be a very useful basic reference to keeping a house bunny. I've had my houserabbit for a while now and do still refer to this book from time to time. The sections on feeding and health are useful. Also, there is a short but useful section around introducing new pets to your rabbit. Would have liked to see more tips on keeping life fun for my rabbit- but there are a some suggestions here.

4 out of 5 stars A good guide to keeping house rabbits   July 27, 2004

This is a very informative guide to keeping house rabbits in the UK. It contains useful information about introducing a new rabbit to your home, housing and bunny-proofing, training, rabbit behaviour and bonding, trouble-shooting, healthcare and nutrition. There are colour photographs throughout and the book is an excellent reference guide for any house rabbit owner.

I was surprised to find the book didn't have an index, although all the information is in clear chapter sections so it's fairly easy to find what you're looking for, even if you're just browsing. There is a detailed section at the end on house rabbit healthcare which is useful, as well as info on recommended UK vaccinations and other preventative procedures. Highly recommended.

5 out of 5 stars Not just for people with houserabbits   January 23, 2004

This is a great book. It covers every topic from your bunnies health, the right diet, your rabbits behaviour and what they are trying to tell you! It is very well laid out and illustrated beautifully with several photographs of different breeds of bunnies.

The emphasis is on the houserabbit but the information it contains is valuable for bunny owners with the outdoor bunny like myself.

It is an addictive read with some humour and if you are a real bunny lover you won't be able to put it down.

5 out of 5 stars A must for house rabbit owners   October 23, 2003

After making the decision to buy a house rabbit I waited for the publication of this book, and I wasn't disappointed. It contains vital information on choosing and introducing a rabbit to your home. How to befriend your rabbit over the first days and how much damage to furniture and carpet to expect. What to feed your bunny and how to interpret your pet's behaviour. Help with training and a comprehensive health check section. An excellent book which has been referred to constantly.
