there are so many guide books, it can be very hard to choose one before visiting a destination. Well, I think this is the one to choose if you are planning to visit Scotland. It is much more informative than some better known publishers and really covers the whole country. This with Scotland The Best by Pete Irvine are the two books you need before visiting Scotland. Both are a little quirky but Footprint also delivers on the detail as well.

During the past few years, I have bought several Scotland Guides but was never completely satisfied with them. As a Geography student and a great Scotland fan, I certainly expected a lot. This book served my expectations and provides excellent information on transport, background, sights, accomodation and whatever else one needs to know about Scotland. It really lives up to its reputation to provide an objective overview.
