Paris Hotels (Alistair Sawday's Special Places to Stay)May 6, 2005 Having used Alistair Sawdays books before to find accommodation in this country, and always been delighted with all the places we have stayed, on recent trip to Paris I immediately purchased Alistair Sawday's Paris Hotels. After browsing through I selected a few hotels and went on to their web sites to book. The hotel we stayed in was exactly as described in the book and we had a wonderful time. I would have no hesitation in recommending th book as I found it very easy to use

I am addicted to these Sawdays guides, they haven't let me down yet.
If you seek the anonymity of the chain hotel then stop reading now. I have no problem with overnighters in Mercures, Meridiens etc but once you've sampled the character offered by this selection of Parisien hotels you won't ever use another guide. Well set out, beautiful pictures, accurate and honest descriptions but more importantly they have done all the legwork in highlighting the type of hotel that makes a stay in Paris all the more memorable.
I know Paris fairly well but part of the enjoyment of planning my next visit now is to leaf through this book and choose a shortlist of hotels to try. I've bought the latest edition because it now features a hotel we've stayed in quite a few times before it got in to Sawday's and I was so pleased to see it featured.
I can't recommend these guides highly enough. Choosing a hotel in Paris is a minefield - let Sawday's do the hard work for you!
