Amazon.co.uk Review JK Rowling takes her enviable ability to turn paper into gold to the next level by cleverly teaming up with Comic Relief 2001 to bring Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them (a set text during Harry's first year at Hogwarts) and Quidditch Through the Ages (Harry's favourite book), to the masses--and all the money goes to charity. --Susan Harrison
A great 20-minute readNovember 9, 2006 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
A lovely read, I find myself reaching time and time again for this book because of the hilarious "comments" made my Ron Weasley and Harry Potter. This really does remind of a fantasy textbook, in the way that we would all love to scribble in our textbooks from time to time, to enliven the dull formulas and such that we all have had to learn! However, this is anything but dull.
JK Rowling goes into detail about mythical creatures, all of which are very interesting to read, partly due to the fact that most of them have been mentioned in the Harry Potter series, and you find yourself giving a little smile of recognition once every two minutes.
Funny, short, and a wonderful thing to keep on your bookshelf - if you have a few minutes to spare, don't know what else to do , and find yourself not in the mood for reading something long - here's your answer!

this book was absolutely great!!
i loved the way harry and ron wrote through the book, adding bits to the description of the beasts. the way that they did this makes it quite funny and fun to read!
the part of the book that made me laugh the most [yes i have a weird sense of humour =)] was where they drew goyle and wrote that he smells =]
this book is great and every harry potter fan out there would absolutely love it!!
another great book by J.K RowlingMarch 25, 2006 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them by J.K. Rowling is an essential for Harry Potter fans everywhere. The book is all about the different beasts of the world, you will recognise some of them from Harry's previous adventures as others are J.K Rowling's take on mythical creatures. An all-round fun book is what you will find here and children will love the extra comments added by Harry and friends. If you need another reason to buy it then all proceeds go to charity. A good book for a good cause

Details, lots of details!May 2, 2004 7 out of 13 found this review helpful
A very funny little book that shows that J.K. Rowling really thought of a lot of details behind the Harry Potter stories. It also helps to see the world of Harry through other eyes than just his own.
