A Book All Dads Should Read to Their KidsSeptember 30, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I just finished reading this warm and uplifting book. It's not just about space, it's about Dads (dadliness) and kids. An edge of your seat unfolding of story and a terrific punchline. Funny too. Every Dad should read it. And kids.
I loved this book!August 9, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
For me it was the quirky details and the funny digressions that made this book so good. And the brilliant plot, of course. When I read the blurb I thought I was really going to have to suspend disbelief. I was wrong - it is so well constructed that it's easy to believe that Liam could get lost in space. This book is a real treat for children and grown-ups!
A pleasure to read aloudJuly 15, 2008 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
This book was a fantastic read, my 12 year-old daughter loved it and found it hilarious and moving too - I really enjoyed reading it with her, and must admit I teared up a bit at the end! It's really good at helping parents and kids see the world from each other's point of view, and has got to be my vote for kid's book of the year...
a truly superb bookJune 30, 2008 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
This is another children's book that is wonderful for the adult reader too. It's very droll/perceptive on the relationship between teenagers and Dads and gently humorous throughout. What, however, set it apart from other books is the quite touching development of the stories of some of the children characters (I won't give away which ones...).
