This being a new book and therefore up to date and accurate with its guidance for the independent traveller, does not undermine its niche as a beautifully written account of the region. The author's warmth for this land and its people seeps into the reader and unlike other travel guides it is also grips the reader like a good novel. It is an essential item for a visitor and will be an enlightenment to those who not only want to see but also to understand the places they visit. When I left Palestine I gave my copy to a fellow traveller in Tel-Aviv - reluctantly( and I miss having the book), but I felt that I wanted to share the experiences to others of the kind people who are often mis-represented by the Western World
