This book is easy to read with clear explanations. It guides the first-time researcher from study design through to writing for publication. The book is not as detailed or precise as Polgar and Thomas' Introduction to Research in the Health Sciences - possibly because it has more of an emphasis on qualitative rather than quantitative research. A wide range of statistical tests are mentioned but detailed theory kept to a minimum. I would recommend this book to anyone about to embark on a qualitative research project particularly if they are anxious about the process.
