THE book for anaesthetic equipmentMarch 27, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This book was purchased following recommendations by AnaesthesiaUK and colleagues. It has proved to be invaluable during the beginning of my anaesthetic career and for the primary examination.
The text and illustrations provide clear and concise information while the MCQ's at the end of each chapter have enabled a means of accessing ones learning. Overall, this book provides all that is necessary for understanding anaesthetic equipment and also importantly for passing exams!!
I recommend this book highly!
Good starter book, lots of picturesDecember 11, 2006 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I bought this book when I first started anaesthesia and I found it a really good introduction to the equipment, which can seem a bit alien to start with. It has lots of pictures and some MCQs at the ends of the chapters. It is definitely useful to read it when you first start and also for part one of the exam. However it's usefulness is less once you're more used to anaesthesia so you may choose to borrow it rather than own it.
Clear layout, essential exam textFebruary 6, 2002 11 out of 11 found this review helpful
I found this book very easy to read.It has an easy to follow layout with 'components, mechanism of action & problems' sections for each item or group of equipment, followed by a highlighted summary section. It also has MCQ's at the end of each chapter to see if you were concentrating! A must for the primary FRCA
Clear text and great pictures of anaesthetic equipmentMay 3, 2001 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
Pitched at the right level for FRCA part I. You may have struggled through other texts, and will be relieved to find their is a book that clearly presents the information you need in note form with clear pictures, and factual tables. The bulleted boxes are really good for cramming before the exam / vivas. Good luck!
