How to get it right!January 3, 2008 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
As a physio student I have found this book to be of enormous value. Palpation is one of the hardest things to be confident with but Derek Field, FCSP, has made it much easier.
The descriptions are concise and the pencil drawings that correspond to the photos are as clear as you will ever need them. The book starts with basic principals of palpation before taking you logically through the human body. No matter what your profession; palpation is a powerful assessment tool and as such you need to be prepared. I have not seen a better way of doing this that reading Mr Field's book.
Invaluable and simple instructions for correct palpation.August 29, 2002 24 out of 26 found this review helpful
Short paragraphs of text provide an easily sufficient amount of detail. They are placed alongside photos and diagrams of the surface points on the human body they are describing to provide simple identification. Important muscle attachments and joint structures are summarised for quick and effective learning. This book can be used alone or to supplement other anatomy textbooks. Ideal for exam revision and for those of us who find other anatomy textbooks a little longwinded.
Quick and easy index - brilliant reference book for anyone studying human surface anatomy and palpation.
